A Single Bed

I've made an attempt at making a single bed.
I was only going to do the bedding, but I made that then decided it needed a bed!

I used an old jewellery gift box (cardboard) as the base, then used sucker sticks to make the headboard and footboard.
I stole the idea from: http://miniatures.about.com/od/dollhouseminiatures/ss/coffeestickbed.htm

The pillow, "mattress" and duvet padding was made from fleece fabric (folded for thickness), with stripy cotton over the top.

Oh Christmas Tree...

I wanted the house to look festive, so I bought a fibre optic Christmas Tree.
Cheap and cheerful for now - only bought it last week.
Maybe next year we'll get a better one!

I hope the picture isn't terrible,  I took it on my phone.

It's quite nice, battery pack operated.
I got it from ebay.

Happy Christmas!

Purple Carpet in the Attic

Work so far...

It's all assembled, which was easy enough (except I couldn't get a couple of the screws all the way in, so needed a bit of extra muscle for that!)
the roof isn't fix-fixed, so you can take that off if necessary.
It lifts on a hinge at the top.

These pictures are the furniture we already have (given by Godmother) and the purple carpet that she gave us too. I put that in the attic, and the leftover bit on the stairs from the attic (we will get spindles and ballustrade for the gap on the right)

The room divider isn't fixed in place

Front right view with staircase (bannister will go on left as you look at it)

The cake and the cat was ours. All other furniture from Godmother.

Piano with Clock.

Eleanor's Dolls' House

Eleanor's Godmother gave her a dolls' house. It was one Godmother had bought a few years ago and intended to paint, decorate and furnish. She never got round to it, so has decided that Eleanor should have it.

It's this one: The Ashburton Dollshouse.

These photos are stock photos taken from http://www.dollshouse.com/product/216122/the-ashburton-dolls%27-house

That's what it looks like in its full, unpainted condition.
It was rather easy to put together, and it does indeed look like the photos (except I haven't put the room divisions in yet, because I can't decide where to put them, and they might need to be glued or nailed into place)
